I have started hunting a really good new spot. It has been producing a fair amount of wheaties and silver from the 1920's - 1950's. I dug this ring, which basically rang in like a dime on the DFX. When I recovered it, it was a flat as a dime as well. I took some time, but I managed to get it round again, and now seems to look more like a cat. Too bad some of the stones are missing.

Any recall rings like this? I would guess it's from the 1950's? Are they silver or aluminium? Any info would be much appriciated!

That is a neat looking ring! It really does kinda look like a cat...

Yeah, that's an odd one... :icon_scratch:

And if it's aluminum, it would weight practically nothing, so it's kinda easy to tell if it's aluminum or not.

Looks like an owl to me.... Nice finds!   I agree that you should be able to tell by the weight if it's aluminum. Since you was able to straighten it out without breakage, could very well be silver.....

Aluminum. I remember getting these rings out of gumball machines in the 70's.
