According to a local historian, the sword was made after the civil war til about 1907. Found these last summer. Not quite sure on the age of the knife though.

Knife out of late 60s early 70s. Leather wrap was pink and metal very soft. Bends easily. originally had an oval foil sticker on blade. Or did on dads.

Thanks for the info on the knife

Awsome lock! great finds!

Everything pictured is cool. A sword is now my unicorn or relic that I have yet to dig. I have acquired an old gold coin but only because I bought the darn thing. Keep hitting this spot, something tells me you'll be surprised. If you ever end up selling that sword, please let me get a bid in on it. Happy hunting.

A gold coin is a big goal of mine. I found quite a bit of stuff at this site. A couple mid 1800's large cents. Lots of flat buttons. A Henry Clay pendant from 1845, a civil war bullet. A few round military buttons.and ax head. It's one of those places that just kept producing a lot for a pretty small area.
