That's a really cool find. Looks like it could be an old belt buckle, I don't think it is a broach.
Anyway it is a nice find.

Neat buckle! Certainly to do with the game of Cricket. Maybe the missing piece were crossed paddles? What is the thing at the bottom of the buckle? It's your game so maybe you know it better, LOL. HH, Mike

its the reverse side im not to shure some kind of clip i think cricket is right i all so see a hand shake maybe masonic ? hope somone can id and date

thanks for the links TreasureHunter didnt see it on thier

Nice buckle.
The way the back is soldered, I would think 1800's.
But that's just a guess.

Looks cica 1890-1920. Definately Cricket, I think to celebrate a yearly friendly (hence hand shake)competition. Something bolted on the front which may have had further details of years? players? title of competition?

This is based on my best guess.

where did you find it? looks cool.

thanks for all the replys i found the bukle in a field ive bean detecting it was on the surface i didnt dig it out shame about the missing part in the centere

Really neat find.Hope you get an ID.
