Great pics! We just started seeing Cooper's Hawks in my neck of the woods recently.

Those were called chicken hawks around here. They were all but eliminated due to their reputation. I’ve seen a couple recently and they are making a comeback. There are three very similar looking hawks in three sizes. Sharp shinned is the smallest, then Cooper, then Goshawk.

Great shots. There are plenty of Coopers Hawks around my area. Several times I've seen them snag smaller birds. There's a bunch of sparrows who've taken a liking to a pile of sticks in my backyard. Not long ago they were all down inside the sticks and I heard them chattering in a panic. Sure enough the cause was a Coopers hawk perched on the fence waiting for an opportunity to snag one.

Great pictures again, OV! Thanks for posting them. I always enjoy your photos.
