I think you posted that here once..correct? Very nice.

I thought I posted it in the Copper Culture forum. My mistake

Glad it is here though. I wish they would move the copper culture area to artifacts. For that matter all North america artifacts to one board. It would be like having to post your coins only in country of origin. They can be some of the best finds you will ever see. Thanks for sharing that copper spear.

Backbacon....your copper spearpoint is a type IE from the Wittry classification system, estimated to date between 1500 and 1000 BC. This type is well known from the Winnipeg River system in Eastern Manitoba. Enjoy!

Nice Copper spear.
This is the copper culture forum right?

Native Pride....yes....I'm from the Winnipeg area and have found a lot of old copper artifacts from the Winnipeg River region. I haven't gotten to my copper sites with a detector yet....only surface finds so far. That will probably change this coming summer.

Sorry larson 1951...I sent that reply to "native pride"...still trying to get the hang of this forum....animoosh

I think your finds will double once you start detecting. Good thing about copper is it is loud and clear and goes deep. Keep posting and jump in anytime.

Native Pride right back at ya cousins. Animoosh your going to love your detector come spring. I'm in central Ontario and I know your in a target rich area, take your surface finds and x10 that for your up coming detector finds. Keep an out for eyeball finds just the same. I have hound some stone tools while detecting in the bush.

Backbacon....somehow blew off your PM and don't know how to reply to your message, so I'm doing it on open forum. Please PM me again...Thanks. Oh yeah, here's a couple of shots of some of the copper I found surface and water hunting over the past couple of summers.copper 4.webpcopper 2.webp
