Cortes and GB in DISC mode

I'm looking more and more at getting the Cortes (versus the Whites M6 or MXT) as my second detector. Apparently the GB is only adjustable in All Metal, and preset in DISC mode. I've heard two different versions on this from some people and just wanna clarify for myself what this means. By preset, does this mean that it is a factory set setting that always stays constant? Or, whatever I ground balance to in All metal mode carries over to DISC mode, but cannot be changed with the GB knob in DISC mode only (unless i switch back to All Metal mode). Your experiences or thoughts are appreciated

What you adjust for in All metal carrys over to Disc mode and can not be adjusted while there. You can change back to all metal and readjust and switch back to disc. Some mail order sites imply that it is an automatic setting which it is not.
