I got out to a new foundation I found recently. Soon into the hunt I get a decent signal and out comes the shoe buckle frame. I love digging those so that made my day already. This place is loaded with Iron, in the heavy iron I was able to pull the Tombac button, the toe tap piece and the thimble. After more junk I dug up what I believe is a valve of some sort if anyone knows about it would be cool to hear. Soon after the valve I dug up the large cooper which is very thin and in poor condition when it came out of the ground. It doesn't have much detail, but after to emailing Don from Jersey and Don from Brewster, I believe it to be counterfeit. It weighs 6.9 grams. Anyways a fun hunt, thanks for looking.

Counterfeit, but counterfeit American not British. It looks like a Machin's Mills. This 1788 is the one at the top of the Coinfacts page, and I took a look for a sec and may be it.

The valve is the part of a barrel tap that opens and closes flow

S&C is correct. It is like a petcock valve. Very nice finds. Congrats.

Yeah IP that is what I thought it was a Machin's Mills Copper, couldn't totally confirm it, so I went with the Counterfeit Root. I forgot to say about the Machin's Mills in the writing I did for the post. I posted it from work :laughing7:. Also right after I dug it, I thought Machin's Mills, because it is just like the other Machin's Mills that I dug a few years ago. Thanks IP for your input

Keep up the good work. You've had some pretty good stuff turn up recently. Congrats! I like the counterfeit KG.

Nice finds Bubba. With the counterfeit find I have to ask...were you hunting with Vino?

You had a great hunt- congrats! Hope you can get a few more from that site.

Thanks all for the good words
