Good find. I find always keep my detector on until I reach my car for the end of the day just in case. I have a few treasures walking back to my truck like that.

Me too...I found a deep buried tag from a long defunct amusement park on a trail leading out of the local pounded park as I was leaving....

Thanks for all the nice comments: it's been a couple weak months for detecting for me: only 12 silver coins in two months. TONS of wheats though, probably around a 100 or more. The rings were from a lot that has an ancient tree stump but still has student foot-traffic through it everyday...found one wheat penny there as well as about 15 clad quarters...wish ONE of those would have been silver. Hopefully I'll find one more good spot before the cold sets in for good here in Indiana.
