So I talk to one of my coworkers a lot about coins. He's almost 70 and fills books for his grandchildren. Another coworker who is in his sixties here's us talking and gets to thinking"I can do this and cull silver and get rich". So today he comes up to me and starts asking a million questions about silver dimes. Tells me he looked through a box of dimes and got skunked. Tells me he did a box of quarters and a gain zip. Then he tells me he did 100 in halves. NAdda. I.laugh. he then tells me. "THERE IS NO SILVER LEFT OUT THERE" AHAAHAA LOL

Same thing happened with my dad. He saw a big hit I had on CWRs and thought he would give it a try. $200 in halves, $100 in dimes and his CRH hobby days were done lol. This is why I don't mind talking about it with people. Most people don't have the patience to search $500 in dime just to find one or two dimes worth two bucks a piece lol.......but I do! :)

Used to be a time they thought you crazy for digging though coins. Nowadays everyone's crazy!

Enlighten me please, what's CWRs?
Thanks
BigChief they are Customer Wrapped Rolls.
It and lots more is in the beginers guide.

Fixed it for you.

Also.. it is in a way. If you hold it for a while you will be rich from the finds.

I know some tellers know the score. I finally spotted a silver dime in a tray and I asked the teller to buy his loose dimes, he tips the tray away from me and hides the keeper behind the gold dollars. I bit my lip as to not tip my hand and said thank you.

I don't ming talking about it to others - HOWEVER its important to also talke about etiquette, proper dumping (not at same bank you pick up at), being nice to tellers, not pissing banks off etc.

It only takes 1 bad apple to spoil the bunch and I dont want some pie-in-the-sky noob with a big bankroll ruining my banks! I already had to buy a $500 box from my pickup bank this week, MWR's that had been gone through and repacked in the same wrappers crinkled down. Oh well

Thanks!
I read CC's beginners guide but didn't see that one.

It is not in the beginner's guide, and then people get angry when this question is asked. I support reopening the Beginner's guide to update and add info.

I'm nit telling that guy anything. On Friday he went to my pick up bank that I go to on lunch to get a box of nickels. Same denomination that I get. I know anyone can g anywhere but to me that is low.

Tell him he is right and you were just pulling his leg.

Best thing about this story is that on the day he steals my pick up of nickels I go to my dump bank and cash in a box of nickels andget my cash back in quarters. Pulled a silver out of those rolls.
