Looks like a inclusion might of eroded and fell out by the shape of it. Put some dark pudding in that holenice find with some good stain.
Yeah the pic is a little dull but your right it does look like an inclusion fell out of that beast!!

I like banana myself, but that wouldn't match.
As for the pieces itself, I don't see a Cresap. Looks more like just a large Blade.
Cresaps are usually very finely made Points.
