CRISPINS CRITTERS

I know G.I.B. knows when he is played off and is mildly amused. No offence G.I.B..

Guy on yak? yakity yak.Ouch.

…and Crispin, the 'other' thread is constantly monitored by the government.

Our government can find a guy on a yak in a mountain cave, the anti-government people on social media sites are easy prey for them.

Chill in the safe zone my friend. Don't get on the other list!

G.I.B.

After replying here I think He already is :tongue3:

Was that Jimmy fellow Pinnochios' friend? I was thinking Aesop,
but that was just a grasshopper.
I may be lost, too...... mew mew
what's with all the car references? I can be mobile......

Will this work? :laughing7:

Thinking about some jerk harassing my friend, Crispin,
pisses me off to the point that it is hard to not think of asking them outside to further discuss their point of view.

I REALLY don't like this potential scenario, but, you are dogging my Bro, and I got his back.

But, civilized man will allow the option of being non-confrontational by choice.

Ya know, a lot depends on the situation,
but most times,
I'll say, "I see your point," I don't agree, but until you can show me proof of my error, you are wrong."

No one has the "last shouted word," no physical actions result and you have lain a challenge, intellectually,
for them to pursue before any other discourse is needed.

If you are so angry that you could strangle,
issue the parameters of further discourse, smile, shake their hand, turn, walk away....

And "Don't Let It Show."

Best,

Scott

I asked a guy to step outside once, shortly after I spit out my front teeth.

I believe you can be mobile!

I goota go let dogs out, laughing so hard they got excited.
Some one mentioned this earlier.

I have a little inside information on that event,, and not all is as reported here. Funny how cliquish some places are.

Having said that.. I looked at that that forum, and I don't know what happened, but I know enough that my opinion on that forum would mean nothing, I have no idea about drugs, prescription or not. I look occasionally at the natural remedy theories.

Dave,

Are you the Dave that was granted Charter Membership on this very thread?

Someone help an old man here.....

Regardless, I know nothing of the situation; however, this much I have gleaned.
(I know not what thread or what was said)

My initial reply is that "natural" remedies have validation in the studies of modern medicine, but some "ole timey" cures can kill you.

As one who sneaked into doctor's offices (I can say this because of the statutes of limitations....) from, well, whenever, wherever, and merely sat at their desk just to read their newest edition of NEJM, etc.
I can say that I DO know of pharmacology.

I knew of the adverse renal failures shown in research 3-5 years before it was widely publicized.

Due to an aggravating knee injury resultant of a motorcycle wreck from about, what? 1979?*

I was on a steady candy diet of 800mg ibuprofen every 6 hrs.
No help for the constant pain, but it was causing potential renal failure!

When kidneys fail; You Die!
Wanna buy a PDR?

But, until medical research proves the validation of some home remedies,
I say,

"Caveat Emptor."

Anything that I may be missing?

Best,

Scott

*Believe it or not, that knee has taken a favor to swellin' up here lately...
And hurtin'.....

Dang! I'm just fallin' apart!

It sucks gettin' old, but it damn sure beats the alternative....

You obviously didn't go out the back.....

I once kicked two bouncer's a$$ when they thought that they
were going to "escort" me out of a club for not taking my hat off.

Yeah, I was much younger and I do believe many previous beers were involved that particular evening.....
They came up to me, one on each side, and one of them grabs my shoulder......

End result....
No charges filed by either "party,"
And I always kept my hat on.
(They both refused medical attention from the ambulance, despite the blood loss....)

I am Scott. I Am quick to say I know nearly nothing about natural or synthetic drugs,, but I find them somewhat fascinating, nonetheless. ( As a disclaimer. I was majoring in microbiology in college, a hundred years ago, and worked in a few environmental labs,, did a few drug studies, as a lab tech) but the field moves fast,, And the merck book was too thick even then. I hated it and chose another field lol.

Because of my story, I wonder how many kids up to 22(or older) know what they want to do with their life? And they go to college hoping they chose correctly, I don't feel that I did.

My Friend,

Those who know me and my beliefs will say that I dislike most all
types of synthetic medications for illnesses of psychology.

Granted, some medications are necessary to initiate progress, but I digress.

The term, "Natural" connotates a belief in safety, sometimes erroneously.

Is the term "natural" to be understood as "homeopathic?"

Before anyone tout the benefits of "natural" cures and medicines,
let them be prepared to show evidence of such claims.

Always,

My Best Wishes,

Scott

I encourage you to investigate what the government will allow to be labeled "Natural" in your local supermarket.

And believe me, I know about "natural" remedies having read most of the "Foxfire" books
as a kid and now living just a few miles from it's origin.

Shoot, I even wrote a Final paper on the topic.
Got an "A"

Guess who helped with research?

Yep!
You got it!

Dang Scott. I went and told you about stuff to smoke...
Good thing it was not in person, hate to have to swing you around by your heels till your not upset anymore.:laughing7:
Foxfire was ,hopefully still is an outstanding project. Elliot? started it and despite the logistics the community ran with it.
The message of generations communicating instead of avoiding each other alone worth the effort.
Now,get you a nice non caffeinated tea,I,ll refrain from suggesting a natural,l.o.l. and be nice to the bouncers.
Grain alcohol for medicinal purposes can be kinda natural....but stick with the tea a little while.:p
I have one book left, others water damaged over the years but there was quite a series. Tough little Simmie Free in the surviving tome.

"Now listen here, youngin'
If your gonna pull your weight and have Folks believe in ya,
You GOTTA DO THE WORK!
No lollygaggin', no slackin', even when the hangovers hurt from last night.
You go to class and take that Final!"

Friend,

College is hard work....

But,
The benefits of an adequate education can be most profound at times, don't you agree?

You mention studies.
This Topic I can research further and add to.
Specifically?

Quid pro quo....

For my Friend, RC,

Best,

Scott

Some change their avatar frequently.
Me? Once a year.

Y'all recognize the current one that I use.

It is how I generally feel since my Mom died Dec. 20th, 2001.

I had to handle all arrangements.

Christmas has never really had the same meaning since.....

This year, I plan to bake cookies and treats and go to see my Friends at Disabilities Resources(the wheelchair place),
Julie at the shelter, with a big box of needed supplies and treats for all,
and most importantly, the ones I see daily,
like my locksmith Friend and his Family, a Special Blessing to them!

Or, I may go camping.
Or some combination....

See how I keep active and busy?

I'll outlive Lincoln. :icon_thumright:

What?! He got killed?
When?

OK
I'll outlive Roosevelt.
What?
Again?
BOTH Roosevelt's are dead?

OK.

I'm safe with Kennedy.

Huh?

I'm feelin' kinda old just about now.
Let me rest my bones under this tree, please...
Have you any water?

It's still hard, but I'm winning....

Hoo boy,Christmas.
Anyway, Roosevelt got shot in the chest I believe, it was on his way to a speech. Seems his papers for his speech were hit on impact.
He refused attention to it and went and delivered his speech. Not a flesh wound but a serious hit.
Theres a man kept on track. More would challenge him but he kept on truckin!
Part of him may show yet. National parks just a bit of his passion shown still.
I,m not big on politics but some character from the past shows more strength than the present,I don,t know if party even matters anymore as vacation play time starts again for our representatives.

Shot in the Chest 100 Years Ago, Teddy Roosevelt Kept on Talking ? History in the Headlines

No long rest yet for you Scott. A breather be o.k. though.

"What? We're on? Right now? Live?"
" Oh, crap....Get my agent."
"I still have no agent?"
"Then what am I payin' you for? You're fired!"

"Um, here's that babe my Daddy's been talkin' 'bout. Some dame called Patti Page."
"He claims that she is 'hot.'"
"Me? I dunno......" :dontknow:
"I kinda like the subject matter of the song though, and, well,
JUST PLAY THE DAMN SONG WILL YOU!"

My night-time cup of fresh ground espresso is ready,
and I've a bedside Sudoku puzzle awaiting my challenge......

Good night to all and may you always rise on the right side of the bed.

Best,

Scott

One more song?
Why?
Huh!
Cause!
Huh!
What is it good for?

I always say "y'all!"

Best Wishes,
Y'all!
