Florida freeze is over. Back into the low 50's with highs at low 70's. Not sure if I have to harvest the sweet potatoes or not. They are in that phase where they are not sure if they are going to die or not. I wish there was a neighbor kid I could bribe to the digging. Eva refuses to dig...she thinks it is bad for her paws, what a little diva princess.

Here's a link about when to harvest sweet potatoes.....apparently 90 to 120 days from planting is ideal but you can stretch it out to 150 if there's no danger of frost in your area.

If you have neighbors who grow other veggies maybe you can arrange to split your harvest with them if they dig them up
for you.

Quite different than white potato in regards to tops dying off before harvest.But then are sweets really potatoes?
While having not grown them in a while, well before the time red potatoes needed to quit growing I had hit them often for "New " potato's, yum.

Wow! That's a high price for a killing. I could see paying one sweet potato but two? Well that's just a crime!! Lol!

Shove some coins in the ground in your sweet potato patch and have a detecting party at your house.

That should get them dug up.

M.D. 20/20? or 4 Roses? Cuz Boonesfarm country quencher apple over crushed ice was wholly acceptable during hot weather, here in Michigan thats a week or two out of the year from what I can remember when it was hot outside a couple years ago.

My love for animals shows me the ways of others who love animals and that we are kindred in soul.

Perhaps that is why I spend more time at the animal shelter than at a bar...

Reminds me of a story.....

I was Maintenance Director of a "Tax Credit" property holding,
in the wrong side of the fabulous town of Wichita, Kansas.
Back about, what, 1997?

First thing in the morning, I walked the three block property grounds picking up trash.
Including empty albuterol canisters.
Used, I'm supposing to open bronchial passages for "better" absorption,
via pulmonary channels of the drugs bought, sold and ingested after hours on the property....

I ALWAYS wore surgical gloves and made sure they were included in my budget.

I also made note of any "strange" vehicle or other anomalies and
reported to the police force responsible for that jurisdiction.
The Officer responsible to that area and I became good Friends.
Reports of abandoned stolen cars, drive by shootings, (Now, By God, There's a story!)
and working with Neighborhood Watch Groups....


Actually, I have 4-5 stories on this realm of my experiences.....
(ever smell chitin's a-cookin' for Thanksgiving?)

I just purchased a bicycle air pump for my bike on the Feebay.
Something like 3 dollars and ninety-eight....Free shipping...

Now it looks like I'll have to find room for your type of mount.

Yes, I plan on riding my bike from the north 40 parking lot to my classes this semester.

First, I've noticed that the back tire is flat.
I had to walk to classes today.

I should be ready by Tuesday to wheel my way to classes!

A little River Band sounding tune! Keyboard guy looks like R.C.A. Victor dog through blurred eyes part of vid!(He is bottom right of screen, grabs a towel to shake at 1:25.)
Bikes a challenge to secure. This from a guy that walked many miles after his was stolen. The wheels are targets for theft if not secured as well.
Little bike pump gets alot of use here, wheel chair tires on one unit, lawn cart tires and in a pinch on the golf cart. Being able to work on schrader valves and presta a plus.

I had an inhaler for a while to be able to get a full breath and at times to get a breath.. Celebrated with a smoke once before realizing the irony. Now my cloths keep shrinking with out my smoking for a while. Hmmmm. Smell better though.

Many do not realize what Schrader valves are by name or use.
Anyone with any knowledge of HVAC knows....

I once worked at a Goodyear Autocare Franchise in Lawrence, Kansas as a "tire monkey."
I mounted tires, balanced and did oil changes, brakes and other automotive repairs.

Guess it was in the late 70's or early 80's....

I was eventually King of Tire repairs from the County Sheriff's account
to Semi truck tires of 3 piece split rims....ten-hundred and eleven hundred twenties.....
When's the last time you heard of "Studded" snow tires?

Guess I've got 3-4 stories here, too....

Maybe earliest 70.s on the studded tires the ol man had on his Fairlane. Summer showed where some had spun in places but our poor roads today it might be an improvement though road wear was the prime reason I heard for their demise.
Tires can be nerve wracking for me at mounting time. Watched a young fella working hi lo tires with out any protection for his remaining eye, (first was tire related). While one to mind my own business when someone is working as a private contractor I did suggest he was risking more than I thought affordable .

Stuck with babysitting a bunch of 6-10 year olds?

Throw 6-10 quarters out in the back yard in front of the little "ankle-biters."
Then tell them that you threw 20-30....

I would have thought everyone would know what a schrader valve is...around here studded snows are equally as popular as bald tires...believe me I know.
