Whoever said G.I.B.'s plan involved playing by house rules. The new plan involves a fast get away car to his boat and a rapid disembarkation from port. He has assured me that after a couple of weeks on the lam they will give up and we can return home with no worries. Bare minimum, I get two weeks to let the salt air heal my lungs. Of course, exertion is still a major problem. So I'll supervise from the deck and drink Guinness while G.I.B. does all the sailing. Hey, if the Coastguard pulls us over we'll just let them play with Eva until they get tired of getting licked and move on...

Warning: Pensive writing

Well, the week is over. I feel like I traveled through somewhere between the worlds of the living and the dead and then back again. It is amazing how fast gossip travels when it involves a doctor. Several people of relative importance came into the office and tried to send me home. However, patient after patient thanked me for coming in. As usual, the crisis never stopped coming. Then...some of the big guns had emergencies in their families and we had to work in extra patients. What can I say...I survived it. All in all, the last 10 days have been pretty stinking miserable. I told the wife to take the babe and head off to her parents house. I intend to do three things: sleep, rest, and watch football. I can't wait for the Colts to pound sand into the Patriots. I figure next week has to be better then this one after I rest up. One of these days one of G.I.B.'s crazy schemes will cash in and then I can retire and work for free...truly be a servant of the people. Until then; eat, drink, and be merry. For tomorrow we may die. No Guinness tonight, but I plan on sneaking a couple in tomorrow.
