Got released from the straight jacket today...nice to be able to stretch the fingers and type again. Sorry JG, beat you too it. ;)
My Friend,

The "straight jacket" that you speak of might be just another walk in the park to others.

Then again,
Other Folk's "straight jackets" might just be that walk in the park to you.
Somewhere in the mix,
A common "chord" can be found....

That being said,
I wish the best for YOUR situation.

Mine?
Don't ask....

One must find that which is within oneself to continue to exist.
Whether it is finding avenues to help others to better themselves,
Or finding the unconditional love of animals and spending a Saturday afternoon volunteering at your local shelter,
Or perhaps just being alone with your thoughts in a virgin metal detector site with untold prospects ahead,

Humans are a "societal" creature and the innate desire is to be benevolent, helpful and to work together.
What is your pleasure?

After all, how else did we kick those dinosaur's a$$?

:laughing7:

"I know who started the fire..."

PS. Herein lies the secret of the dinosaurs' demise....

I taught the other Neanderthals of fire-making,
and from there,
It was
COOKOUT every weekend.

Poor dinosaurs had no chance.....

As further reference to the "Common Chord,"
I offer,
As study music,
The full album of "The Lost Chord."

DAMMIT!
Quit printing bills with the same serial numbers that I'm using!

Best,

Scott

PS.
I once was employed as a skilled printer.
Could produce the "Kansas-Nebraska Overprint" on stamps.
UNDETECTABLE.

Scott catalog numbers around 600 or so, if I recall.....
Learned from the best.

Now, there's a story that I won't tell before lawyer consultation. (One of many....)

Yo, Feds....
Never sold any. Never made a thin dime, OK? Teacher is dead years ago.
Feel me?
All that you can bust me on is knowledge.
I'm paid to gain knowledge.
Where are we going, here?
No problems, right?
Statutes of some limitations and all, I surmise?

"Yeah, I'm a bad man.
Don't crowd me!"

By the way, RC,
What's the exchange rate of sweet taters to other commodities,
Let's say, Beets and other such root crops?

Small problem. Profit failing. I keep scratching the zeros off ten dollar bills and by the time I,ve spent a hundred of them ....

Commodities are volatile as all ways. Drought in the west would likely get a good exchange for skinny cattle though.
A tater to a scurvy stricken man worth a fallen gold crown.

Squiggy,
You will always be priceless to me!

Scott

Another Marty Robbins , this one we sang in elementary school in music class also. l.o.l..

Recorded the year that I graduated High School,
With "All American" high hopes,
I volunteered for Military service.
Not just any service,
Military Police.

What is it Like to be an Army MP?

The training was extensive and "special."
(my service began in 1977)

When I deployed,
I entered a whole new world.
In 1977.
The cold war.

This should answer any questions....

http://student.ung.edu/sdkais5614/personal.htm

I will not make any further comments about my service except to say that several years after discharge,
I happened to see my second grade teacher in the local supermarket.
I stopped her to reminisce,
And she spoke of,
"Two nice government gentlemen came around asking about you awhile ago..."

I hope that she didn't tell them that I liked to talk the other kids out of their milk.....

Here's another full "album" from when I graduated High School but was yet a lad.....

Best,

Scott

The night is young,
My studies will surely burn into the hours of the night that many will slumber.....

For those who slumber.....

Beware of those who profit financially from beneficial efforts....

OK.
Didn't want to play this 'cause I was afraid of how it and I would be perceived.
The "One Sentence" (or song) summation of Scott?

But, since I'm among Friends,
I'll play it....

This was a version of the Scorpions that I used to play back when Otis greeted me at the door...

Picture 789.webp
{sniffle}

And when the best part of my day was seeing my Boy, Otis.....

Anyway,

If I ever was having a bad day and my world was crashing,
I'd plate this 33 and whistle along.

Soon, Otis would find me and provide the needed encouragement to keep on.

C'mon.
Y'all have been in a place where you need strength and encouragement, right?

How better to show your strength than to provide for and receive the love of an animal?
Am I right, Elly?

Anyway, I'm not ashamed to admit that when this song played, on my worst days,
and even tonight,
when I whistled this tune,
I cried...

Who showed up to ease my pain?
My Memories, and my Friends here...

Best,

Scott

Oh,
And the next Scorpion's song?
(Otis purred so loudly on this one)

He knew that he was in Daddytopcat's arms and was safe....

I suppose that my effort at the shelter magnifies my love for Otis and all critters.....:dontknow:

Best,

Scott

I have begun the final journey towards my College degree.
Merely 2 more classes after this semester.

Will I, as an old fart,
Live long enough to ply any help
that I've wished to provide to Vets or others,
Or will I just "piss out and die"
And not make a difference about squat?

I'm past the "crossroads of Life,"
Friends,
I'm too old to play games,
My future may be of your opinions.....

You know of my passions......
I wish for your opinions....

Best,

Scott

Dang.
Y'all want a random story, right?

Oh yeah!

I had to fly from KCI to Louisville to help some friends move. I was in charge of packing, loading and personally drove the truck.
I HATE flying!

On the way to KC, we were stopped on some bridge, facing the Arch," and it turned out to be the second best Fourth of July for me.

The Best?

Well, Friends,
That is a story for only me.

Maybe I'll tell it....
Probably not.....

Y'all be good to one another, hear?

Best,

Scott

As I think of Otis and past loves,
I offer this before I sign off for the night. Morning,
whatever....

I got about 16-18 hours of studying ahead this weekend.
Math and Geology.
That sums up my weekend.

Enjoy yours....

Make it "Your Weekend!"

I Will!

Best,

Scott

PS.

Backbacon,
Keep your tinder dry, ration your meals and soon I'll share a cup of campfire coffee with you....
Thank You for being a Friend....

A Premium French Cognac doesn't hurt?
No?

We all have our weaknesses, ja, mein Herr?
