Cru'Dads Day - Very Rare Coin!!!

Finally Dad is giving me a run for my money with a Very Rare Penny of Stephen 1150-54!:headbang: (this period of coin is nearly always weakly struck on an irregular flan)

We decided to do an old moated manor site & we had both agreed on where we should start, funny old thing, the first run & first dig from Dad was the top find!
I struggled with a 13th C Annular Brooch with 2 animal heads (1 I need):icon_thumright:
Dad got the nice 18th C Buckle!

Only managed 2 hours dodging the thunder storms, very sticky day under foot.

WoW... fantastic finds

that's crazy awesome

What do you do with all your buckles? Do you display the better examples?

Congrats on a rare one, I'll be honest don't think I've ever heard of "STEPHEN" That's getting back there.

Nice buckle too.

Sadly it does not qualify as a banner coin, as it was not by a member, but it was a banner find & is as valuable as my recent 'Bull'.:headbang:

What a day! Congrats

Nice to see that the old men can still give the youngsters a run for their money................Congrats to Cru's Dad..............HH

Rarities are always great to see, And learn about..
(first I've heard of 'Steven' also)
Now I can ID it if I dig one !

Congrats to you and Dad, Herbie.

The team is killer in pulling rare hammereds! Congrats to Cru Dad from me too!

Thanks guys, its now recorded with the appriopriate Museum. It's important to them, our country & us that the location & details of these rare coins are kept safe for future study.
For those interested, our ID was spot on & the Museum confirmed it as Thetford Mint & Moneyer Gefrei.

very nice well done
