CTH3 OFFICIAL SITE FOR THE HUNT.

Well, the family and I made it to the hotel in Springfield. The boys had a swim to get rid of some energy, and then went to bed. I am heading there soon.

I want to once again thank Stan and Vickie for their hospitality and friendship. They just don't make them better than those two. Spent some time talking with Monty and Juanmoretime and feel that I know them better now although I have hunted with them a few hunts now. Great guys....funny how you hunt with these people but don't get enough time over a weekend to really sit and talk. I truly enjoyed visiting with you all. Rebel LT and Mrs Rebel LT....enjoyed talking with you as well. (I am still coveting your finds... ;D) Gypsy, Cyn, Warsawdaddy, BEF, Watercolor, Cybercop, MG, Riverrat, Nana and Hubby, DT Wilson and son, Tin Nugget...the list just goes on and on. You all are such incredible people and you all truly make the hunt a lot of fun. I hope to have the opportunity to get to know others that were at the hunt that I didn't get time to talk to. Brad and Debbie, nice talking with you...thanks for your kind words regarding my artwork. Steve S.....I will be calling you about hunting. Greg..thanks for the ride to lunch. Enjoyed breaking bread together and visiting.

I know I am rambling....so better go. I will post some pics tomorrow night if I don't arrive home too late. Miss you all and look forward to hunting with you all again. God Bless.

Dang Tom...You and the family could have just stayed by us....plenty of room and besides I need help unloading....no pool ,but the garden now looks like one from all the rain last night...
Drive safely and it was nice to meet your family!

Been at work since 3:00 a.m., tried to send an email to BEF, not sure if it went through. I may have what they are looking for. (I think it was BEF looking for a ring).

HAD A GREAT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

It was really great to meet so many people I thought I knew already. Hope to make it next year, time will tell.

Burdie and your great wife Vicki, thanks so very much. It was great and appreciated.

Gypsy, what can I say. I am at a loss for words. Might meet up with you in the fall in Springfield.

Albert, you are sure tough to keep up with. No wonder you find so much great stuff!

Later.

Bob

Well, I posted a short bit over no today's finds thinking I was probably the first one back home since I left early. But it looks like others posted on the road, but I just wanted folks to know what was coming. Unluckily or luckily my computer ate up my pictures and I didn't get to post any. They made it to the monitor once and then I couldn't find them again. I think they are still there somewhere and I just have to find them. And don't worry Gypsy, I will be descreet if I find them! I really enjoyed the pictures posted so far. As usual I look like a drunk, or maybe make that a dork! I have rarely ever taken a good picture or I am a lot uglier than I think I am. If that's the case I have to say my wife Kay saw something beneath that gross exterior that I couldn't see. I had a real bad problem with the old sciatica nerve and had a hard time getting around so I indulged in pain pills more so than normal and a bit of the time I was indeed feeling no pain! I have some really hard butt kicking drugs that I can take but don't like to because they are addicting so I am not use to walking on water! ;D But anyway, I sure was glad to meet so many new faces and I am still trying to figure out who everyone was. I would look on a name badge and see something like, "bravebullet", and them later that person would say,"call me Rick". Pretty soon I was calling everyone Rick! So, all you Ricks it was a pleasure to meet you. After the high winds Thursday night, the campeing crew had stuff blown all over the area and looked like a homeless hangout. I heard Stan or maybe it was me threatening to make them move across the tracks, but then it dawned on me that we already were across the tracks! I guess they had a tough time keeping their tents from going airborne, but things settled down and it got better. The chill in the evening and at night was really unusual for this time of year. We had been having 80 degree days and high 60s to 70s at night until last weekend. I won't mention any names but I think that cool air was brought in by someone from up on the northwest coast area. Brrrr, it was in the 40s at night and I doubt anyone brought heavy sleeping equipment. And 40 is really cold when you are on the ground. I took my shorts but never put them one the whole time. But the days were pleasant and it made hunting more comfortable. Enough bs from me now, come on with the pictures folks! Monty

Just a few more rambling words now that I have had a little sleep. There was one old codger that kept me up all night at the casino.Hope he felt as bad as me on sunday. It was such a great pleasure to finally meet everyone that I had only conversed with on here. And such a terrific enjoyment to see all the missed and familiar faces again, and to take full advantage of those great hugs.I do hope that Jacob gets the breakfast he wants so badly,MG was pretty restrictive in not letting him have much to eat.At breakfast he was limited to a full order of biscuits/gravy,hash browns, eggs, sausage,an omelet, pancakes, and the left side of the menu.Burdie/Vickie,I'll just say that I love you both and Burdie,I owe you one for those pretty young bordello gals you saddled me with, thank you,my friend and I'll get that 'Letter To The Editor' off shortly to help you out.AND WHERE IS MY 'LUCKY PANTS',Nana?I sucked my thumb all the way home thinking about them! And I still don't have any proof of the 'Famous Cinnamon' rolls. Not one was served!Still think they are a figment of someone's imagination.More later. And Nana, that really is a funny story that Charlie told me in confidence!I probably won't mention it for a few days!

Stan....I forgot to pay my fee for the luxurious camping accommodations....Will get check out right away....Thanks so much for all you did to let us camp....and if you ever want to get rid of that fire pit...let me know!

PS....Next year could I have a spot with a wind block? Otherwise I am changing name of camp to Gypsy's Air Balloon Camp

Ok....back on the road home....will try and catch up on posts when we get there. Sure was good to see everyone again!

Dang it all to heck, Daddy! I forgot to give you those lucky pants...still in the luggage. I guess after seeing you with all those pretty young(er) gals, I figure you don't need no lucky pants. :laughing7:

Well, doesn't seem to be anyone around! Since it's somewhat chilly and damp, I've decided to hit the road for Kentucky at this time rather than go back to hunt the 'back forty'.

Thank you Stan and Vicki for a great time. I look forward to seeing you again next year, and all the wonderful folks I met and those I saw but didn't meet. Had a very good time, but next year I'll stay closer. Leaving before nine PM so I could get some sleep was not the best way to enjoy all the camaraderie around the campfire, so will stay much closer next time.

For those still travelling, godspeed, and be blessed but be safe. I have some photos but don't know when I'll post them. Didn't have a chance to get the photo warden's approval...... :)

I will be posting a photo of my leg tonight and you can all see the wonderful results (in beautiful techni-color shades of yellow purple and blue )of why it isnt wise to use a two foot rebar pipe for a tent stake ...not mentioning any names here Rick and Albert...and how it isnt wise to not look down when you are trying to manuever through the tour group who visited the Gypsy camp

AP...What ever it takes you need to do it and get yourself to the next hunt....You would so enjoy it...and it would make it so much easier to whack you when needed

Texan Connection~
I only got to say hello once to you. You were covering some major ground. (Of course, I was too). What did you find at the hunt? Any 1840's Morgans? :icon_scratch:

BTW...how many coins were found? I know of eight that I can remember.......six the first day and two the second. Well, I guess it's back on the road anytime now. We are leaving Springfield for Jackson, Missouri. Everyone drive safely and lets try to guilt or blackmail Burdie into a fall hunt. Anyone have any dirt on him? :read2:

I want a copy of Gypsy's leg photo.

Miss you all.

Ahhh........Gypsy, you can whack me anytime!!! :D
Ive shown Lizard Queen this thread & told her I'd love to get to the next hunt & she agreed, we need to try our best to get to the next one! Gotta warn y'all though, Im even crazier in person than I am here on the net.............I might need to borrow bail money! ;D I'll bring lots of diggin tools! :icon_thumright:

Bill...Could you please post a picture of the Badge I found in The Sheriffs yard...I have it buried under a ton of camping gear and you have the only evidence that Me and Nana rocked that yard!!!!

Well, I am finally up from a good nite's sleep, and reflecting on the trip....I wish to thank Steve, Burdie, Cyber, Bobby, and any and all of the insiders that threatened me with bodily harm if I did not make the trip....It truly was an offer I could not refuse! It is unreal the kindness showed by you guys, You're all top notch! It was awesome to see so many familiar faces, (this of course includes the members of the Uvalde Six Pack!!) along side all of the new ones...Sorry if I didn't visit as much as I should.....it's really tough for me to sit still and visit when I know there are relics to be dug! I had to have someone come and get me Saturday nite out of the field, not realizing that I was the only one out in the field....Next hunt, I hope to arrive a couple of days early just for visiting...I love being around you guys! To all the camping gang, it was a blast hanging out and shooting the breeze everynite around the fire....good times....Burdie, thanks to you and your wife for doing an outstanding job on getting this hunt together, I know how tough it is to do, and you guys made it look easy! Enough of my ramblings...Will post pics later....safe travels for all still on the road...
