Say a prayer or two for my daughter in Norman Oklahoma. They were hit by tornado but not a direct hit. They are OK but scared to death. The house across the street is gone. I hope no one was home. They are out surveying the damage to there house. The fence is gone on there property. Poor kids are scared. Let you know more when I here more.

Reading all the posts about the tornadoes, everyone be safe out there!
Brad and I are safely tucked in at the hospital hotel...going to take my friend's mom through the skywalk in the morning to check in for her surgery so hopefully it is still there! ;)

Burdie, I am glad to hear that your daughter is safe!

Wichita had it's first tornado warning of the year with a tornado on the ground reported near the airport, and several others in the area. The radar showed Caldwell, where we were at the hunt yesterday, a solid red color. The storm went through here at 65 miles an hour with some hail and heavy rain. After all, this is Kansas. Maybe that ground isn't so hard now.

No electricity, everones fences are gone, all have roof damage, cars over turnd on Highway 9, and no injuries in the immediate area. Mel's grill went flying off but the play set was not touched. Every one is safe in the housing development.

A farm south east of Caldwell was destroyed. We hope everyone is safe and at home. Thanks for your thoughts.

The supercells formed into a squal line around independence KS. Bad news for the storm chasers.......good news for the rest of us. I can sleep good tonight. The storm is falling apart in southeast kansas. Thank God.

WOW, Hope yall are safe, Sounds like a wild ride.

uhh go check out the tree above the bottle dump. It might have a bunch of nice bottles waiting to be picked up off the ground.

All clear here. Storms went N an S of us we are in between 3 rivers but, most here think the Conoco refinery putting out so much hot air is what keeps them from toucing down here we've had tree top but, none on the ground for over 60 years . At the state line a house destroyed an N an S of us semis blown over S of us about 30 min away baseball sz hail covered the highway one car lost windows. Jacob and his parents made it home safe. Yea! Had 2 form 1 west of us went n an 1 s it headed west ! We were sent home they say we will be clear for the night glad all are safe an praying they stay that way! Stan your kids are in my prayers !

all clear here, the storm cell that had the tornado south of Caldwell, was figured to hit me dead on, but it stopped and turned to the east about 20 miles south of me. all we got was some rain, about 2 inches, and a little wind.
it was really weird seeing the upper clouds moving east and all the lower clouds moving west, I think they were in a hurry to get someplace

a friend and co-worker at our school lost her farm. The house, the barn, and the shed gone. Just small debris left on the place. Will be heading down to help out if I can.

Glad your safe Sniffer now we can go back and clean up the good stuff left behind after that great rain we got. The ground will be soft. :laughing7:

Been at work since 3:00 a.m., tried to send an email to BEF, not sure if it went through. I may have what they are looking for. (I think it was BEF looking for a ring).
Yeah, it was BEF (Bobby) that lost the coin ring there at the campsite. We were over by the fire pit and woodpile. He will appreciate it!!

Bobby and I left out of Wichita on an S80 yesterday afternoon and made it to Dallas/Ft Worth airport ahead of, or between, tornados. We parted there and I caught my connecting flight to Tallahassee (had a couple hours layover in Dallas so I had some free food and watched some Blue Collar comedy on TV at the USO). Didn't get home until almost 10 pm and hit the sack for a while. I just woke up.......
Glad to hear your daughter and family are safe, Stan! Thanks again to you and the missus for setting things up.
It was good to see everyone again and meet some 'new' folks! As always, it was over too soon!
Next time I'll have to squeeze in my laptop for the trip, and remember my camera.
I hope we can drive too..... flying is boring..... and kinda cramped!

All safe here at my homestead! The tornado that hit Norman and south OK City came up the turnpike as usual but just before it got here it split and part went north and part went south. We got a little straight wind and a quick rain shower and it was over for us. The sun even came out for an hour or so. Monty

I got a question..........who won the raffle for the .410 folding shotgun?? That was very, very cool! Pics are starting to roll in now & Im lovin' em all! Looks like the hunt was HUGE success...........Nice job Burdie & Vickie!! :icon_thumleft:

I REALLY wanted that shotgun. Had $275 to bid on it but I didn't get to go. Someone got a really cool gun.

Well Hannah and I got back to Springfield safely on Sunday evening... which from the looks of all the wicked weather, it looks like we came back just in time! I finally left Springfield and arrived back here in Saint Petersburg at 11pm last night. I barely got back home and dropped my bags before I crashed. I had to be up early this morning for work, which I just finished... so I've been waiting to post up our meager pic's. I had hoped Hannah would've taken more, but we got some. :) I had a really great time, even though I only got around an hour and a half in of detecting. :-\ That bottle dump that me and Sniffer found while exploring around turned out to be my highlight of the hunt since I didn't find much detecting!! I just wish I could've gotten my whiskey bottle that I dug back here to Florida... but I left it in Springfield instead for safe keeping. It was SOOOO awesome getting to see everyone again and spend time with each other... definitely something that I've needed for a long time now! I can't wait until CTH4!!!!
