The snow had melted & left us some nice sticky clay, however the weather was alot kinder with just a chilly moderate wind.

Did another 3 hours (6 man hours).

Please to report a nice hammered was found by me & a scrappy roman.

Might be Henry V - 1413-1422 (needs more research, difficult as the letters & mintmark are not visible)

Definately a Halfpenny which are difficult & quite rare to find. :)

UPDATED;

Confirmed as a Henry V Halfpenny. This is only my second Henry V hammered & my first halfpenny :icon_sunny:

That hammered sure is tiny. . . very nice!

I'm still waiting for the last 3" of snow around Chicago to clear. . .

Good luck on day 24!

I now need to rest my limbs after 4 out of 5 days hunting. I had so many layers on that after 30mins I was heated up from the digging & lifting the ton of soil on my boots & spade :tongue3:

Congratulations on that Little Beauty! I seldom see Halfpennies posted in any forum. That's a great day for you--I bet you were thrilled!
