All Treasure Hunting
We spent 7 man hours today on the big field continuing our quest.

Better day today:

2 buckle variants I need (left one 17th century)
2 scrappy romans
cica 1800 Leicestershire Volunteer militia button (only our 4th)
Silver piece which is most likely 17th century book clasp (never had a silver type)
bits.....

Going out early morning in the freezing weather as we have a family doo in the afternoon.

I'm drooling on my keyboard at that book clasp...

I don't know that folks realize how Valuable books were before the invention of the printing press. Those book clasps are ALWAYS a cool find in my "book" :D The silver one is especially nice.

Very true, its small & therefore a thin book. As you know the most popular book was the Bible which was much thicker, so I guess this could be a little diary or the like???

There is no hallmark & everything screams 17th century to me :)

It is the best find in awhile.

We are going out in 5 minutes, 0900 start today. Keep plodding on....
