DC 3 Crash during WWII with lots of gold aboard between Denver and El Paso

Does anyone have any information about a plane that was loaded with gold to be delivered to Mexico during WWII . I left Denver bound for El Paso and was never heard from again. It was a DC 3 and the gold was a payment to Mexico to keep them neutral in WWII.
