Detecting Gear, What Do You Use?

Well, after being involved now for a few months. Having fun getting out and detecting a few properties. What do you all prefer as detecting gear? What I mean is what do you use for carrying your gear while out?

While getting caught up, in the setting up my gear area. I bought mostly everything Garrett, two bags, one for trash items, the other to store and carry my gear. What I learned is the web belt is not very strong. Strong is that it folds over on its self and then tends to dig into my side. Probably due to the fact that it is loaded too heavy. Don't get me wrong, its a very nice bag if your going light! I will keep this just for that purpose!

After doing hours of searching and watching video's on MD and MD gear. I found a guy who uses a battle belt with the molle system. I thought that this would definitely have what I want to carry all the gear I want to with un-necessary grief of discomfort. I have the belt and the two utility pouches, just waiting on the last bag. All I can say is WOW! This belt sure feels great when I have it loaded! The molle system is awesome to configure where you want all your gear to be located. This is just wanting me to get out even more now! Once I have everything on the belt Ill post some pics. In the mean time, please post up some pics of what you use! Thanks!

I carry as little as possible.
On the beach- Surfmaster PI, long handled scoop, some type of light apron, and I wear light divers booties, shorts and T shirt. I travel light and fast on the beach.
In the park- XLT, mechanics alignment tool, ( it's like a tapered 8" ice pic), light apron. In some parks, digger and pinpointer.
Cache hunting- 2 Box, shovel, compass, GPS, back pack ( to carry the cache back, lol )

I usually work from a small MH. It is loaded with equipment.

I like leather. Using two tool pouches on a tool belt gives me more than enough room for everything I need. One pouch is dedicated to digging tools and the pinpointer, it has lots of small areas for tools to keep organized. Also has a nice clip loop that keeps my keys from disappearing. It is made by kline tools and is very good quality, heavy stiff leather. The other pouch is for finds and trash. The smaller pocket is for keepers and contains a small plastic container for coins. The larger pocket is for trash, I carry out everything I dig. This pouch also carries a rubber mat I use to kneel on, it gets folded up and fits right in there. I hate getting my knees wet with grass juice. Other items that are always in this pouch are a bandana for putting my dirt on, spare 9v for the propointer, repel 100 bug spray and a can of pepper spray for larger things that decide they want to bite me. Wearing all this stuff for a couple hours does get old, so I will take the belt off from time to time and work in the area around it. I hunt large private properties so I can't be hiking back to the car for every little thing.

I'm considering getting a product called a bucket boss that fits over a 5 gallon bucket and has pockets all over it. It would be used for some of the things I like to have handy, but don't need immediately at hand. Some of the stuff I carry on my belt could go in there and just keep it nearby.

It could stay in the car or be carried along depending on where I am hunting. I like this thread. :-)

Ill still keep the Garrett Camo Digger pouch for the parks and playgrounds. But I like to carry the things I want. The set up here is awesome for the person who wants all the toys. Its super comfy and its the padding in the belt that does this! Now if the 90+ degrees temps and humidity would just LEAVE!!! I got this idea from a youtube video, so if the person who posted this idea is on here, thanks! BTW, them mag holders have a flash light in one and a buck knife in the other! The black bag in the middle is just laying there, its the other Garrett bag I keep for trash items with the Digger Pouch.

Loaded about 10-15 pounds. I carry heavier pack while hunting, so this is light for me. What's nice is the padding makes this pack feel lighter when worn. Its a load bearing belt design to feel lighter when loaded.

Right now I'm hitting tot-lots,so I use a 5 gallon bucket,to pull all the junk out,such as plastic soda/water bottles,foil and what ever kids leave behind.

Well one back pocket has my digger. The other has my pinpointer. My cargo shorts have deep pockets. I have to use suspenders as the short will travel after a hour or so of putting coins in them. Now I do have a sport backpack when out in the desert and it has more stuff than I can remember. Even full, it is very comfortable to wear, some sort of motorcycle back pack I picked up at a auction. That backpack holds a shovel, pick, compass........its for my more serious hunts.
