did i make out good???

well today i picked up a few bottles. 3 that interest me. the first one is a marine hospital service bottle. i paid 2.00 for. nice condition, water stains. i found one on ebay item #170038066234 . exactly the same except his is a 500cc, mine is a 250cc. he says his is rare, but then again they all do. i found out the service was brought together in 1798 and its conversion to the Public Health Service in 1871 by john adams. im sure thats why the dates 1798 and 1871 are embossed on the bottle. the second is some sort of motor oil bottle.(still smells like oil, when the cork is popped) i paid 50 cents for. again found one on ebay item # 6251125128 . he is asking a pretty steep price. mine is in much better condition. the third is a soda or beer bottle, that i can find nada on. i put out 3.00 bucks on this one. nice heavy thick amber glass, some seeds, and the bottom is embossed EJB i cant tell. maybe someone here has seen one of these. so what do you all think, did i make out well or is ebay sellers over pricing

Oil bottles are another much sought after bottle type. Motor oil came in glass bottles with both paper or embossed labels. These came in clear and colored glass. One favorite that comes to mind is a Gargoyle oil bottle. It is clear glass, but depicts a red gargoyle on the label. Because oil bottles were generally used in conditions not friendly to breakable items, such as an automotive garage, these are limited and highly sought after. Prices for these depend greatly on specific type, condition, and age. Chips are common on the edges, but perfect finds can be had. Expect to pay from $20 up into the hundreds.
