Did Nokta lower the price on the Magnetar 9000?

The only time I use my 14" or 15" coils for my gold detectors is in mine dumps or rivers where the bucket-line dredges went through and made nice, easy piles to pick through. I still haven't found a 3"+ chunk of gold that the old-timers "supposedly" used to classify out of the back of their dredges because "supposedly" they only cared about the small stuff.

I wonder if the Nokta Magnatar 9000 will come out with a similar 14" - 16" coils?

Any information about the Magnatar 18" coil that should be coming out?

Interesting price history graph on some metal detectors.

With the coils coming out soon such as the DRC – open 19” coil and the Concentric open 18” coil there must be some request for these types of coils?
Any specific information about these coils yet?????????

The size of the punch plate or trommel drum can be an indication of the type of gold they were anticipating to encounter. Each increase in diameter exponentially increases the water needs and usually lowers the per CY pay. Now days they could put a detector under conveyor belt and dump the large signals.

You can eliminate the ground and the hot rocks both if you follow the instructions. Watch this Garrett video.

My guess is that the window for both the high and low cutouts is too large and will miss a lot of small nuggets for a ground balance that will tune out both the hot rocks and high magnetite ground, perhaps with all of the coils?
The largest 16" coil will not signal the very small targets thus perhaps less on the noise factor?

Maybe there is something else I'm over looking?

Axiom is dual ground balance using its normal ground grab ground balance procedure. The two different ground balance numbers shown on the screen represent two different ground balance points. Those numbers are never the same on mineralized ground so there are two different small detection “holes” where a target could be ground balanced out. Since those two ground balance channel points are not identical, one of them will hit the target that the other could potentially miss. On the other hand, creating a ground balance window is a whole different ground balance procedure. So is using automatic ground tracking. Both have a higher potential to ground balance out a good target. I didn’t use those two at all.

All of the Axiom DD coils are Focused Core DD coils. Those coils have a small 3” or so focused core that is In the center of the coil and is not technically a DD. That focused core is extremely sensitive to small targets no matter how big the coil is. So the 11x13” and 14x16” DD coils are still very sensitive to small targets right at the center of those coils.

One source points out that:
Why two points?

  • Above-ground bounce: Cuts out the strongest ground signal while still allowing the coil to detect targets.
  • At-ground balance: Targets the soil’s conductivity directly, which can be more effective in certain environments but may make it harder to detect small targets if not done carefully.

I don’t know your sources. I just owned, learned and used the Axiom for three years.

There may be a few drop out 'holes' between the high two-digit ground balance number and the low two-digit ground balance number range.
Garrett will have a better idea about this however this will not change how these effects impact the detecting of small targets.

A YouTuber named Bearcat years ago did a series of videos that compared the Garrett ATX and the SDC2300 when they become popular. He found that they both had the same performance, except that the ATX had a hole in it's detection ability. Any nugget that had a certain size and shape, the ATX simply couldn't see it. Very strange.

With some detectors you can’t separate small gold from saltwater using conductivity as your basis. This is programed or built into the electronics. This also goes along with certain size and shape of the target. This could be considered a built in 'hole''.
