These are a few of the pieces I've dug up over the past 3 1/2 summers. I have two dig sites. One I mainly find early archaic artifacts. The other is a mess of many time periods. I don't do many styles of hunting other than digging anymore. I'm in Illinois.

Between the two sites, I've prolly found around 100 pieces. Not to count the artifacts my friends have pulled out.

Well done! There`s something unique about digging, kind of a laid back back relaxation and anticipation of what the next trowel will bring. You`re fortunate to have a site with Hardins. Nice work.

Your right, I'm very fortunate. That black Hardin is the second best piece in my collection. I seriously almost had tears of joy when I found it

Some nice finds there, keep on diggin...

Nice digs! I'm sure you put in your dues to get them too.
Can't beat the feeling of pulling them out of the ground!
That drill is killer too!

Many many many hours. Ive almost completely wore down a heavy duty hand tool. I'm five to six feet below the surface almost at all times. And let me tell you how much a big tree with an intricate root system can frustrate a fellow

Haha.. Believe me I know.

Hey Adam,
Are you digging a shelter, you have some nice finds, congrats.
That drill and Hardin are spectacular...
Please, tell us more regarding the circumstances of just digging.
Steve

Its a bit of a long story. No shelter dig. I was walking a creek that I had visited many many times over the years. Looking for rocks that would help my particular type of art style. I looked up at the bank and saw an arrowhead sticking out. I went and got a claw hammer out of my truck and started cutting into the side of the bank. That was the first dig site I discovered. Its very plentiful but the pieces arent as high quality as my other site. The drill bit was actually a field find. It came out of one of the few fields that I will spend time walking and hunting

Well then... welcome to Tnet.
Any time claw hammer, cutting and truck are used in the same sentence, pretty cool.
Thanks for posting, keep us posted..

Never done a dig here cause the red clay is solid like a rock in the summer. But I have found some from the groundhogs digging for worms. Id like to try it one day. HH, rock
