Thanks, Keppy. Have seen the term used here a few times now and tried to figure it out by the context it was used in. I thought it was just a generic term for a government employee since the people here seem to detest them.

You might want to dig a little more so you have accurate information. Also nat geo probably thought the panel just didn't get the concept of a tv show which is why it was a waste for you. It is a TV show, not a documentary on how to metal detect, ugh why don't a bunch of you "professional detectorists" get together and make a proper detecting show pilot, then take it to all the networks and pitch it to them, I'm sure they will jump all over it:0)

I know they invited you, at their expense. There were people from all aspects, Archie's, detectorists, minelab was there. And I agree the horse is soooo dead.

It is all about ratings not selling detectors. I was part of a panel that met with David Lyle, CEO of NatGeoTV, to discuss these types of problems with the show. The meeting was obviously useless. NatGeoTV is owned by Rupert Murdoch - they just don't care what they put on TV. Ratings means $ from sponsors. White's actually pulled their ads from the show and Garrett will not formally sponsor them. However, the two morons sell Garrett detectors from their web site. That is why you see them using all Garrett equipment.

Looks like we do have an Archie among us, or close to one:0) I got all kinds of info on this dig battles character. I don't think I really need to go to much into it but I'm sure he knows what I'm talking about. All of his " solid " info is in fact geeeerbage:0)

So he is a archie so that means that the info he gives us is not all true….. I wish they would stay away from us...

everyone is allowed their opinion on "Public" figures & TV Programs. including the right to Defend or be critical of them. all I ask is keep the opinions on Members here out of it if at all possible

Been watching this thread myself for a while lots of good points from.both sides of the fence, but even with all said still gonna watch it I like all the shows diggers,savage family,dig fellas,dig wars ill take em any day over any of the crap out there. Of course all the shows have there moments of huh what really, but I do get to see some cool detectors,new gear,new spots lots of other stuff so its not gonna stop me from watching
