All of my half dollar veins are tapped out! I still pick up whatever loose and CWRs that I can find. I am finding 3-4 40%ers a month.

My new goal is 2-3 dime boxes a day, 6 days a week. Hopefully I will find 15-20 silver dimes a week.

So far:
Sunday
Box #1 - 2 FDRs
Box #2 - 3 FDRs
Monday
Box #1 skunk
Box #2 1 FDR
Tuesday
Box #1 4 FDRs and 1x1968 Canadian (50% Ag)
Box #2 1 FDR
Box #3 1 Merc (1944)
Wed
Box #1 skunk
Box #2 skunk
Thurs
Box #1 shunk
Box #2 2 FDRs
Box #3 shunk

Totals: 14 US silver dimes and one 50% Canadian dime

I see a lot of talking about box hunting. How do you get these? Just go to the bank and buy rolls of coins or do you order theses? I understand the concept of finding silver but how do you all get the rolls or boxes? This sounds like a good way to hunt in the winter!

Read the beginners guide first. Second. Just go into your bank an tell the teller you want to order a box of halves. Or simply ask can I get X ammount in coin. I.e. 50$ in dines etc.

Thanks for the advice. I know what I am looking for as far as finding silver coins but never gave a thought to just going and buying boxes or rolls of coins from the bank. I will give this a try. How do you get rid all the change afterwards? I will read the beginners guide and maybe it will be covered there but I think taking it back to the bank will probably tick off the tellers after a while. Thanks again.

Get an account at a different bank for dumping. Try to use a different armored truck bank. Ie brink's to garda to loomis. This will assure you don't get your dumps repackaged and sent back to you. If your doing very small amounts you can dump them In your u-scan lines at walmarts and other stores . Good luck

Rerolling dimes is tedious. So, I don't open the clear plastic unless I suspect a silver. In fact, I cut a little slit, slip out the silver, insert another dime, and tape it up. I know I'm missing things but I'm happier overall.

Being happy is what it is all about!

If you just band those tubes a bit you can slide the coins out. And not have to use tape
