Do You Have An Artifact Room?

I was just curious as to how everyone displays their artifacts. Do you have a room with your pieces set up in it? Do you have them stored away in boxes? Do you have them spread out all around the house?

When we moved into our new house I had most of my collection still at my parents house in the basement. After we got settled in I took an old workshop that the man that lived there before used for woodworking and cleaned it up, painted the walls and the shelving, put in new indoor/outdoor carpet, and moved everything into it. My wife wasn't real keen about me having things in the house because I wouldn't let her move anything to clean the shelves, so this worked out really well. This building is about 20 feet long by 8 feet wide and is perfect for my showcases, trays, curio cabinets, and shelves. I have the bulk of my collection out on display so I can just go in and look at anything I want, plus it makes it easier if someone stops by so I don't have to go digging everything out just to show them something.

great pics. Here is a few of my small finds. I have been in Dorkfishes room and the pictures don't do it justice. He got me started hunting,& I am thankful for people like him.

very nice, gentlemen. my "museum" consists of a 3'x3' closet! i have a young friend named matt that started the "new indian ridge museum" in amherst, ohio, lorain county. he was a big fan of the late, great colonel vietzen from elyria, ohio. are you gentlemen familiar with the colonel or his many books? i had the pleasure of visiting his museum several times before he passed. he was one of the "old timers" and was one of the original founders of the archaeological society of ohio in the early 1940's. maybe some of you south of me knew harry cline who also had a nice collection.

Wow! I've been in museums that don't have as nice of an artifact collection as you. Very impressive. I have to quit looking, I'm getting jealous.

Hey guys

Where do you get the red foam from I got a little bit once off a guy that was an f16 mechanic at the airforce base...he used to snag the leftovers and bring them to me. I really need to get my hands on a bunch more. Espescially since I am in the process of moving my stuff into a new relic room now that the stepkids are gone

i get the different colored foam at the artifact shows,do a web search for display cases ,most the dealers carry the foam
