It appears to be threaded on both ends. It could be almost anything. Possibly part of a globe or finial. It appears to have 3 square nuts and the ball look to be screwed on.

If it was cleaned up and polished it would resemble a honey dipper

Possibly an old antenna. Flip the picture upside down with the ball end at the top, the square end would be the portion located inside of the radio…

What is the length and diameter of the actual pin portion?

The length of the pin portion is 4 1/2" and the diameter looks to be 1/8". I apologize, I don't have calipers here at the house to check the diameter properly.

Thanks Gare! I think that's my vote as well! It would make sense because in the same area I've been finding alot of old broken bottles and pottery.

The spaces on the square end appear to be brass. It's a solid peice.

Lol when you said that I was thinking wait for a horse or an early car. I remember seeing those on older cars at car shows.
