There is a ton of government land around where i live and I heard it was illegal to pick up arrowheads and artifacts on them. I was just wondering if anyone knew if this was true or not. I tried to look them up but, there were so many laws that i didn't know where to begin, thought it would be quicker just to ask. oh yea go MU

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it is illegal to take artifacts from any government owned land in any state.

it is illegal to do any kind of hunting on federal land,if you were to randomly find an arrowhead at lets say a national park you wouldnt be in trouble unless you got caught hunting and had artifacts on you, digging=jail time.all states are different.here in ohio its ok to surface hunt on state property unless it is associated with burial or archealogical sites.just google mo.laws on artifact collecting, should pop rite up for you.
