Found this tag a while back in the middle of a driveway of a old foundation. I actually found the whole collar with another tag except the other one was carved. Anyway, this says "westmoreland co. Pa. (Dog number) dog tax 1911 paid" obviously I know how old it is, I just don't know anything about the taxing of dogs, anyone got any info? Or know the value?

The ones from the 1940s-50s and 60s list for $10-20 online and I have seen them before in relic shops selling for $5 to $10 .. The dog tax tag you have of 1911 would be more rarer than most dog tax tags you see (I have not seen any dog tax tag from early 20th century) I would assume you could get $30-45 it would be a good e-bay sell. Neat find and thanks for sharing!

Thats a good find..I sold a 1925 last year for $28 ..It was square, had a neat design and was in great shape with a nice copper patina..

Yours is in as good of shape, has nice readable details and is 14 years older.. $35 to $50 would be my estimate..Those early ones are nice...
