Doing something wrong

Recently read a post in which someone said dime hunting is fast. I only check the rims but it is still painfully slow. I can plow through a box of half in 10-15 min. but dimes are so slow for me. Am I crazy? Also, just found my first wild barber dime!

I use a steak knife to slice the rolls. Then carefully bend in the middle and it pops open. If you only edge search you can do 3+ boxes an hour. Be careful with the knife though you could scar the edge of something nice if you cut too hard.

If the dimes are in NF String wrappers they are slow but if you find the clear wraps you can do a box in 5 minutes or less. Congrats on the Barber.

I prefer the standard paper coin wrappers where you have to fold each end when the coins are inside versus the preformed type that is similar to a shotgun shell.

I find the seam and tear the roll open on that seam, and then use a magnifying glass to search.

Dump and repeat.
