found this this weekend at the ..... well, I might get shot if I say where. it has the texture of leather, the center of it looks like glass and feels like wax but its not either, I thought it was a funny looking rock when I found it so I put it in m pouch and brought it home to check out. thinking a tooth...maybe IMG_20160214_184738181_HDR.jpgIMG_20160214_184342409_HDR.jpgIMG_20160214_184325603_HDR.jpg

it doesn't sound like you're describing it to be metal, but the same formation happens when molten metal forms a blob on a flat surface and begins to cool (an air pocket will form on the bottom side)

I think it looks like a nut or seed of some type. Hit the Botany books.

Maybe it's one of those outdoor 'Hide a Key' things for a flower bed. :icon_scratch:

Looks like a hot tub for little insects. I find tons of stuff I have no idea what it is but plenty of people with good ideas,Tommy

Fossil? Maybe try the fossil forum? Interesting, I would have brought that one home too.

Looks like it was attached to something using Goop.images-6.jpeg

Just looks like a natural river rock to me.

Looks like a Thunder Egg that broke open before it had time to form internal crystals...

That's another term for a geode...volcanic spit balls

The outside appears to have a brassy tone that I assume is a lighting effect...clarify please
