Don't know anything about Dave beyond what I've seen on the shows,
specials, etc. All else aside, I believe Dave's a good man, and decent
human being, and that's what truly matters the most. If every big gold
mining venture were successful, then everybody would be doing it.

What is concerning is how fast this thread went downhill. For those that
didn't get it, my comment (re: Wheaties) was meant to be completely
tongue-in-cheek. Granted, there are people who get a bug up their booty
on occasion and just need to vent..they get it off their chest and then return
to being their jovial self again.

Far as I know, Dave Turin's hasn't done a thing that harms anyone here,
and he's probably doing his best to earn a good living for his family, be
that as a TV actor, equipment operator or a gold miner, and I can find no
reason to bash the man. FWIW, I don't judge a man by his religion, but
by his character.

Don't they get free equipment and bunches of free crap cuz of the show? After the few episodes I saw I had no probs turning it off.
I've never seen many overweight miners that were successful. Too much work for the cream puffs.
Just adds up to being fake and for drama.
The very first episode they had a flat tire trying to get on the boats to Alaska and not one guy had the skills to do that? Fake as hell and not a crew I'd want to take to Disney, much less risk my livelihood in alaska.
Beside anyone "being a good man" , business is business.

In the first few lame a$$ episodes I watched of fat a$$3$ fumbling around like school children at the peep show, I've never seen them prospect a single place. Fake and lame and all an act for middle America to romanticize mining.
Why isn't there a show of a prospector panning various creeks all summer without finding a friggin speck because that's reality. These shows and the fakes make me sick.

Mommy and Daddy owning a piece of property or a dozer don't make you a miner.

I like Dave Turin, hes a good guy and im a fan of good guys. I hope he does well in his future mining ventures.
