A07F81AA-01DF-481F-999D-C598BB7E03B4.png Hello everyone! I got out to one of my Second Seminole War fort sites today for a post storm hunt. It was a 4 hour hunt but I didn?t leave until I pulled this beauty out. The dragoon barracks are down the road from the artillery barracks that I?ve been hunting. I hit a spot that I?ve hit quite a number of times but it seems there are always something left. It?s an 1830s Dragoon coat button with a Scovills Waterbury back mark. The patina is incredible and was only 4 inches down. The site is heavy with the iron nails but still managed to find it. Thanks for looking. Enjoy your next hunt!!!

Scovill used the "Scovills" (plural) name only from 1840 to 1850. Thought you might want to know that time-dating fact about your button.
