My heart about stopped when I dug this late 20th century tab. I had to stop and take in all it's glory. It shows what a little research and determination can do. This was my best hunt all day. So don't ever let it be said a site is all hunted out. I got this baby about four inches down with a VDI at around 31 on a Whites machine. After I dug this after about five minutes The finds just kept coming. I know there will be some naysayers out there, but it is all due to a little luck and research.

Slow down........don't get your hopes up yet. THere was a ton of fakes coming from Malaysia a few years back dumped on the market. You'd better get it verified.

So often, we think we've hit the Mother Lode, only to have our dreams dashed.

Funny thing is in England they barely bother to even dig those things up and consider them more of a nuisance, most get tossed in the junk bucket Guy's like Cru and SS are finding crown caps and earlier stuff and usually dig at least a few an outing! Can't imagine what it's like digging a handful of those things on a regular basis! Some guy up by me supposedly found one once, but I'm sure it must have been a modern drop!!

That tab is in amazing condition! After 40 plus years in the ground they are usually bent or broken. It would be the centerpiece of my collection! Banner I say!!

Great find don't know why it hasn't made Banner now that you have found one in Great condition, you might be lucky enough to find a Gold one like this one I found a while back

I'd be careful about that find and not tell too many people. Since it dates back to the 20th century, it may be considered a historical find and could be confiscated. Such a rare item should be in a museum so more people can appreciate its historical value.

ShamWOW! is all I can say. That's got my banner vote. But be careful... there are alot of fakes out there. Some fakers seed the ground and come back later to dig them up. I'd have it authenticated, worth the extra $$$ to make sure it's from a real period can.

Man, don't you recognize a classic tab when you see one?!?! Albert's has that clearly id'ed as an early to mid-70's Coca Cola (see the shape of the rivet and taper of the tail) and in that condition worth considerably more than the value you stated! My God if he'd recovered the matching can along with it that would make front page of W&ET!!

I'm leaning towards early to mid 70's Tab or Fresca. One in this fine of condition we're looking at 3/4-1c range. My hats off to you sir...

I think you guys are way off base on your grading, this was obviously removed from one of the rare Proof Sets of the 1960's. Just look at the Mirror-Like finish. Some kid probably got into his Father's Prized Collection, and lost it while playing. I just hope that when it comes back from grading, it doesn't get the "Cleaned" designation, due to enviornmental conditions. Even though it's raining here today, this has inspired me to grab my detector and go searching, there may yet be another one of these beauties just waiting to be uncovered!!

I am growing VERY very weary of ALL you fools who claim to know what the hell you're all talking about. I have been a member of the Unionized Society Historical Identity Tabs since 1968 and after a scrutinized look at this gentlemen's tab there is no doubt that it is a Fresca can tab, although hard to come by it is NOT to be confused with the Coke cans of 72'+. There ARE traces of plastic liner on the edges, which are INDEED classic to Fresca from 1967-79. I hereby retire myself from this forum to spare me from ANYmore foolish debates...

Gentlemen, this is clearly a tab from the much sought after Pearl Beer can.....notice the small dents on the bell shaped end where it was thumphed by the owners middle finger just before it was pulled.
