I can't do my lumbercamp hunting due to my bad knee so am I going to just give up THing until after the surgery? NOT!

I watch for local hunting opportunities.

This morning I went to an area small church where they're tearing up the ground for driveway cement work.

I was only there 5 minutes and the Nautilus gave me this nice Indian. Then the worker showed up so I got out of his way.

I shall return!

NOTE: I've added more finds from this site. Scroll down the thread to see them. Thanks for shopping with us.

Here's the last coin from the site. Tomorrow they pour the cement.

I also found:

1) one drill bit
2) One shotgun shell brass
3) One old rifle shell
4) Metal leaf work of some sort

Wish I could find stuff like that! Here in Sandy Eggo, though, most areas are just too new for the really old finds -- and those older areas are pretty much off limits.

Happy Hunting!

Well, you got some good finds here Badger,
way to seize the opportunity!

I just don't understand how you can ride that little bike and carry your metal detector and digger too. Shear talent I suppose...lol. :)

Best of luck to you my friend!

Smiles!

California has some of the best THing in the world but you'd have to do research and some traveling. Think Spanish. ;)

Dang I saw that bike and then the big hole near the edge and thought you dug that! :)
Very nice finds. Think I would just sit outside the city garage and follow thedigger guy every day!

Wow , great finds. Say Badger, since your going to be down and out,
because of the bad knee, this ole buckeye would be glad to come up
your way and help out a poor sole. You can find the places and i'll dig
all the goodies. What a Deal huh. LOL

Hope you get better soon, thanks for posting the pics.

Great finds Badger. LOL, haven't seen a tore up driveway or sidewalk my way yet....atleast not since I started MDing 1 1/2 months ago, however been looking like a hawk ever since.

Friends think ya strange for looking or asking if anyone has seen things like that, but what they don't know...

Most people do think we're nuts or welfare loafers just goofing off and not working.

I went into a shop one day to buy an item for my metal detecting and the guy asked me what I wanted it for. I thought that was weird, but wanting to be friendly I told him.

He then asked me if I worked for a living. I wanted to punch him in the fat nose. Instead I said: "Don't we all?"

Just as soon as some people hear you do this they get this bad image.

So yes, it's hard to get people to watch for hunting sites. I gave up on that long ago. Now I gather with folks and chat. Just having coffee with the locals can tell you a lot. Also it's a mighty good idea to make friends with city workers.

Best to you,

Badger

Badger, You should have asked him if you could hunt his yard. ;D

As far as finding good sites, let your computer do the walking.

I have some friends who like to ride motorcycles. They usually go everywhere on weekends. I have them checking out spots to detect in their travels. The problem is you don't find out about them til Monday morning. :'(

Very nice finds!! Results like that, I would definitly be keeping close tabs on when the rest of the driveway is coming up. WTG!!! HH

Badger ,looks like that new machine is working out well! How is the balance and weight? HH

I know what you mean. But this is the kind of question I expect from a child -- which I did get last week. This little girl asked me if MDing was my job. Since she was no more than eight years old, I couldn't take offense. I just told her, "No, my job is working with computers. I do this because I like to."

Those who ask if we have real lives are no more mature than that little girl was. (Like a welfare bum could afford to buy hundreds of dollars worth of equipement?)
