So if you find a place with a reasonable amout of gold and want to set up using these larger multi washboard rigs loading with a small tractor and endloader, at what point if any do you need anything special in permits?
THE LAND DESIGNATION THAT YOUR CLAIM IS ON PREDICATES WHAT YOU CAN DO ALSO SMARA- oops---Surface Mining and Reclaimation Act. One yard is definately bs. There are some horsepower restrictions that are definately enforced as last I checked--in the deserts of kalif outta Riverside and SB was a 8 hp limit. Moved many MANY 10,000's a 1,000's a cubic yards all over and never even triggered the SMARA hastle either as a HUGE disturbance is required. A tractor is definately a sampling tool but something on the line a my much prefered D-9 size would be a game killer. Just keep it lean, mean, small and quiet BUT know your land designation ie: wild-wild & scenic, FS,BLM<historical sites, preserves, wilderness blah blah barf--tons a au 2 u 2 -John
We ran them for over 10 years in Coolgardie and Randsburg districts on both club and private claims and NEVER a single problem as stated- get the regs for your particuliar area as all will be revealed and NOT internet misinformation as each areas rules are site specific--in writing only as all else bs from the misinformed---John
OOPS ol'man missed the number 1 and post should have read 18 horse power and reread twice too!! Sorry for any confusion. As with all areas now there are many land designations and extremely important to get the proper info in WRITING only--sorry but all us humans do make mistakes--John
