I just dropped 30 bucks on one. Can't remember the name or what the website was for that matter lol. It was 7 wide and 22 long. I'll post pictures when it delivers

This is what I bought from big valley metal detectors

1 Back Packer Sluice 6 x 20 - 7 riffle Back Packer Sluice 6 x 20 - 7 riffle

39.99

Yea smaller may be better for you. Too bad you can't dam it and do batches when you have water in reserve....Or just hit it hard once you get rain.

I know! Man I tried to explain to the owner of the property that I'm setting aside his share ( although flakes at the moment) and his response was " Son, I've lived my life and have more money than ever before. Keep it or donate it, but I'm happy enough without it." This is the most gold I've ever prospected. Very exciting. The last few scoops I did last night I counted about 17 specs of fly poop in one pan.

Down here in Jekyll island. Forgot my pans at home :(. Watching the kids play in the sand is just as big of a rush (or bigger) than looking for gold.

It's great that you've got that time to spend with them.
Kids are great at that age...but they all too soon become
teenagers....

You can "pan" with just about anything...hell, I've done it a coffee cup
and found a color...:laughing7:

tnet members exempted was an important note..

I've been using my sons shovel. So far... Nothing

so there was a reason there was no mining on the savannah river
its kind of more like a lake so maybe that's why no gold was deposited

Since the Savannah River flows right across a known Gold Belt, there is surely Gold somewhere in the river. However, Gold that flowed down river some one million to a 100 million or more years ago to the coast, has long been covered by millions of metric tons of silt and overburden. It is possibe that further upstream near or in the mountains of Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, some deposits of Gold could be found that are not quite so deep.
