well...my first one with a tree root growing through the ring! It made me chuckle.

Really? I have pulled dozens of the old ones from the Monterey beaches, and 5-6 from the park I hit today.... You are pulling our leg....

Yes, I've dug about a billion of em. This is the first with a tree root growing through the center of the ring. It had been there awhile by the size and length of the root.

I found one with a root through it before too. It was still partially buried and I was pulling on it wondering why it wouldn't come out of the hole.

I don't mind finding them.. It tells me that the area may be old enough to give up some silver.. :)
 
dug a bottle one that a tree root had grown into the bottles neck and filled most of the bottle up
