I've been treasure hunting / metal detecting since 1996. I've only become active (twice a week during season) starting in 2006, took 2007 off cuz my son was born, and I'm back active again in 2008 and gonna stay that way.
My very first ever dug signal was a 1865 Shield Nickel. Hooked ever since. But it seems strange and OK that it took this long to find my first buffalo nickel.
Still working the same park where I've found all those musket balls. I just found out that there have been several circus' and carnivals a long time ago right in the middle of the field. So that what I'm doing tomorrow.......right down the middle........
As for the finds today, found another musket ball, an old watch housing, and a button.
When I started to clean the button, the first thing I saw was 1856. So, I tossed it into some vinegar and BINGO.......it said......
Since 1856, a picture of a trout and then the name ORVIS..........DAMN!!!!!!
Found:
-14 pennies
-2 wheat pennies
-1 dime
-1 Canadian penny
-2 quarters (one being 1965....so close)
-1 Buffalo nickel (no date)
-1 musket balls
Aw well, thanks for viewing
Cheers!
