My son found this a little over a foot down with my metal detector, it is 3x2 1/2 cast iron. Any thoughts on what it may be. I've exhausted hours searching on the web with nothing close? IMG_0088.webp

its a replaceable tip for ripper implement

Looks like a replaceable tooth for an excavator or backhoe bucket

Cast iron, should date it back to the horse drawn time. There was a implement called a hay buck which had wooden tines to slide up under the hay in the fields and on the ends of each tine there was a metal tip such as what is displayed in the picture. That would be my guess.

Excavator bucket wear part. It should be cast/forged steel and not cast iron (very brittle) since it is made to be more wear wear resistant than the softer metal the bucket is made of.
