Eagle

[Derek752]

Greetings
I dug this tin type eagle over the summer at a site that's given up everything from a Barber quarter, Indian head pennies , Lg Cents , KG Coppers, musket balls , and even a spike tomahawk.. I think it's military related but from what era I have no idea.

Anyone have any ideas ?

Thanks for looking ...
HH.

Can you give us a size and a picture of the back as well.
I've seen one of those somewhere and am trying to figure out where.

I agree, this could be a "half" eagle that would be applied to the top of a lawman badge by soldering. The back "half" of the eagle would be incorporated in the actual body of the badge. I have seen this on several "eagle topped" police badges. Cool find, Sub
