8/21 update:
I need to post new pictures. I cleaned the button using a toothpick and it revealed a lot more details.
- The button HAS stars on the edge.
- It definitely does NOT have arrows to the left of the oval.
- There MIGHT be a US in script letters a the center of the oval

8/20 original post:
Found this beauty yesterday in a NH farm field. Still have not invested in a good button book so need the TN's experts input on this one. Seems to be brass. There are no arrows to the left of the oval and no visible stars along the edge.
Given the eagle type and the crude shank has to be between Rev war and war of 1812. What do you think?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Patrick

I could be wrong. The eagle is turned wrong. I'll look some more. Sorry.

There should be a letter and number in the oval below claws. Can you make out anything there? I can give you a proper I.d. if so.
And it’s not a Florida seal button

Sorry those posted sideways. Don’t know why they do that on this site sometimes even though my files are right side up.

No problem. They show-up straight on my computer when I double click on the image.

I'll look closer at regiment # when I get home put zooming in on the picture it looks like the oval is blank. After desperately looking all over the internet for a match I found this one. Very, very similar. Like mine, it does not have any arrows to the left of the oval. The olive branch is very similar but goes a bit higher on this one. My eagle is a bit smaller than this one. Oh and mine is brass too.

yours I think is GI 43B shown on page 24 of Albert's book. and it would not have had a regiment number.

Thanks! I think that's it. On mine the back does not have any writing/backmark just a line of dots.
