Relic Hunting
Got out with fellow mid-atlantic relic & coin hunters, uncle Joe and good friend Nate, for a late winters dig in Eastern Virginia. Things were a little slow at first but everyone got on board as we moved around to different spots on this trip. The fields are being turned and disked here in Virginia, so time is running out on field hunting :sad10:. That means back to the woods and tick city as the weather warms. Heck, always got the beach to fall back on. Anyway, here are my finds and can someone please ID the naval button and the horse and deer object. It is not a marine corps button. Just need a date range. The field and site dates back to the 1850's. Thanks!

The horse/deer item is a watch winder. I just posted a similar style (different design) one in my last finds post. These are pre-Civil War, probably more like 1800-1830 era. The small "double loop" kind seems to be a later style (slightly before/after the CW).

Buck
