Ebay Listing Accountability Thread

Yeah, you're supposed to be 18. Let him list something on your account, and watch him. Then when the time comes he can open his own, or run an account under you or your wife's name with supervision maybe. :dontknow: You or your wife would be responsible for the "legally binding contract", but as long as he knows what he is doing, and you are keeping a watch on him, it shouldn't be a problem.

He has flipped a few items under my account already. He has the fever. Lol! I just really want to minimize the tax implications for me.

OK, my only sale so far this weekend is a book I paid $.50 for and sold for $30.00
It is all being donated to PLP though. They need all the help they can get right now. Many of my auctions benefit that important organization...

I have 5 that need shipped so far this weekend. I bought a whole bunch today at an auction, and then tonight got home and bought 7 lots of lures off of a fishing forum I am on. Not to mention all of the lots I got on eBay in the past couple of weeks. I've got a lot of listing I need to be doing.

Don't worry DieselRam, it will pick up for you. What was the book you sold? Was it an antique?

It was "handmade houseboats" not really all that old. Cool book though. Just glad I could help PLP some...

Listed 1 item today. Been very busy at work. Sales are down due to lack of listing/ 17 sales so far, but average sale amount is higher than last month. Jewelry is starting to sell better for me now. I have bought some great items this week and I am looking for big sales this week. HH

I haven't sold jewelry yet. I did buy a sterling chain a few weeks ago though. Are you selling more gold or silver?

Just sterling jewelry. I have not found profitable gold items at any TS. I don't do garage sales. The key with sterling jewelry is to only buy signed pieces by high quality makers that sell fast on Ebay. HH

Which ones are the names to look for? I know almost nothing about jewelry...

Look for any items signed by artists from Denmark, Finland, and other Scandinavian countries. Learn old mexican silversmiths and navajo and zuni Native AM. Search sold listings on Ebay and you will be shocked. HH

I am going to do this. I had noticed some listings mentioned being signed, but the only detail about being signed was a close up picture of the mark.

Search sold listings for Taxco and Navajo sterling and Zuni sterling

Yeah, I've not tried jewelry either. Maybe I should try it too.

OK, I was just looking at taxco stuff. It seems it is identified with a simple letter T? Is this the rule?

No, not just those letters and numbers. What you want is to sort by highest price. You want items with Eagle Marks pre- 1980 and specific artists. Look at what sells for over $100. Lookup the Los Castillo pin I posted about. That is a great name in Mexican sterling. Best name I know of is William Spratling. But keep looking at the highest sold listings. HH

Listed 3 today and have 1 saved in my drafts. I've got a ton more to list though. Need to ship 6, maybe 7, and have one with a bid going off tomorrow.

I will look at some more listings today, where are you finding the majority of your jewelry?

I just discovered another item to look for... Second generation Dodge Ram infinity speakers. The ones with the amps bolted to the speaker housing. I need to replace mine and was shocked that they go for about $100.00 each!

Wow, some things just shock me. Keep your eye out for 1973-1979 ford or chevy bumper guards. My dad has a set listed that are bent some and a little rough. They are already up to $31.00 with 2 days to go.

I scrapped several sets of those back in 1997. We built two f150's that year. Mine (1976) and my buddies (1978). I sold mine after driving it to California. He still has his though.
