Hon , I will build us a gazebo , so we can enjoy the weather this summer OK ..That is a great idea , replies the Mrs . Beautiful ,it's done .. Then this happened

Cripes, what kind of storm was that ? Looked like hail in a few pictures. On the gazebo, it looked like a pretty nice one, sorry for the bad joke...

Crappy nah Jim , 70 MPH twister like , winds, severe lightning, with a lot of hail stones and the kite did sail about 10 feet , at one point it was levitating off the deck .. tore the railing off and landed in the tree , missing the 4x4 . No one was hurt but that freak storm did tear up trees and power lines . .. Oh well , Back to the drawing board is right J naturegirl are you in good standing with Mother Nature , ask her to please calm down for us That's for the replies

Whoa, dude! Not a tornado, but straight wind damage. Probably not a sustained 70mph, but you got nailed. The worst ones are downbursts that can knock an airplane out of the sky. We have a whole science revolving around wind back in Oklahoma. The best thing is, pretty much everything there that could be blown down has already been blown down. You should make a video of you standin there in front of the gazebo. "It sounded like a freight train. Yeah, we gonna rebuild." Who would have thought that NJ would ever get Oklahoma weather? Glad y'all didn't get hurt, too.

Thanks to everyone, for your kind words ! Tonight 8-16-10 another severe storm warning , high winds , hail ,with poss. tornado alert , till 10:30 EST Just finished plans for a porch " attached to the main house " . Too many of these storms are coming into my area because I am surrounded by the Delaware Bay , to my West and the Atlantic Ocean , to the East. Thanks again friends CMD

Well I guess you learn from every storm you survive. Glad everyone is ok. You can replace that and tackle it like "Man V.S Storm".
