Getting my new equinox in today and going to be hitting a couple of our old CW sites saturday, can anyone tell me some good relic settings for bullets buttons and possibly cannonball, gonna be a new experience I was used to AT Pro. Thanks guys

I’m going to be running all metal on the F75+ with threshold just up a bit, and a little positive on the GB.

Got the new Equinox in today from Big Boys Hobbies and I'm happy it got here so fast but kinda disappointed about spending 800 bucks and not getting a tshirt, sticker, finds pouch or detector bag. I love the detector but was really hoping Bart could have hooked me up with a small gift for a first time and hopefully longtime buyer of his shop.

Well I was treated the same way. Apparently he isn’t interested in like new trades, and he’s not the only one, I didn’t even get an email back from Fisher about me buying the whole package, and wanted to get a sticker or t-shirt to promote them. I know he’s a supported vendor, but I wish he worked harder for folks. I know business is business, but you should treat former, current law enforcement better, and someone who will more than likely be a longtime customer because you want to support their local economy.

Let us know what you find. It's 17 degrees outside right now, so I sort of doubt I'll detect tomorrow.

I have also noticed a cut back in the extras and free stuff out there. And it's not just on metal detectors.

Why should an LEO get better treatment than anybody else? Y'all are buying detectors, not video games, heck, in fifty years of buying detectors I never got anything but the detector. Never wanted any shirts, hats, dig bags or other gimmicks either.

They give veteran discounts, which all other places give LEO discounts. Every one I’ve contacted does, I think Bart does, I know Whites does, as well as several straight from the dealer companies like First Texas, Whites, Tesoro(no longer available), and Garrett.

Man, u must be Barts college roommate, to say that at LEO or a veteran shouldn't get a discount is ascenine. And if u ask anyone I'm not sure where ur from, but most hobby shops give u some freebies.

Getting back to your initial question, use field2 mode. If you want to find cannon balls, you should put it in all-metal (horse-shoe button). If you have high mineralization ground, use the auto-GB setting, but dont turn on tracking. Dig everything that beeps! Use the pinpoint to get a feel for the size of the target. A really big target can still be heard if you lift the coil a foot off the ground (unless its super deep)

This is true. In all the 28+ years of relic hunting, detecting, and artifact hunting, every hobby shop has offered them, including a gentleman named Gary Gooding who ran a shop out of his own house. He gave finds bags, coil covers, metal detector bags, and headphones, but that’s what you get when someone who had been in business for over 40+ years. My own father sold Tesoro detectors out of our shop, and did the same thing. Think about that LEO, veteran discounts back in the 90’s.

Jason you’re not far from us, and we’re not far from you. You’ve used the Equinox, and I’ve got the F75+, had an F75 since they first came out. We’ve got places in downtown Fort Smith, where there is civil war relics, coins, and other relics, plus fields with Civil War relics. I’ve added you on YouTube. You have a incredible YouTube site. I’m hoping my new detecting one becomes as popular as yours. My storm chasing, and paranormal YouTube channels have done great, but detecting is something I can do anytime.

How many tones?

Has no affect on depth, so its completely up to you. Some people like the 50 tone to be able to hear the TID fluctuations. I like 5 tones because I'm going to be digging everything within a tone bin anyway.

800 bucks doesn’t get you much today. My Whites That I bought in 1980 at $250 would be the equivalent.
