Hey all,

Hope you are continuing to fare well in the midst of the pandemic. I am still learning the Nox but it’s feeling more seamless now. It’s not quite the CTX in my hands yet but it’s creeping up there.

It’s been an absolutely beautiful week in the Seattle area. Highs in the mid-60s and sunny every day. In addition to some cool finds I’ve been working on my tan too haha.

Tuesday

My first hunt of the week was on Tuesday afternoon in a surprisingly historical area. My first couple options for the day didn’t work out due to too many people being around so I moved on to plan C. I started popping teens Wheaties right off the bat and figured I must be in a good spot.

First really great find was an Indian Head Penny and not only that, my oldest Indian yet (and 2nd oldest US coin), 1881!

I shortly thereafter picked up a 1918 Canadian Large Cent. Several minutes later this friendly cat brushes up against me to say hi.

Turns out that cat was my good luck charm. Look what showed up in my next plug 30 seconds later!!

A 10K, Victorian-era, men’s gold/onyx/diamond ring. How awesome. And look how similar it is to a ring I found in August, 2018 (top photos).

I got a couple more cool finds in that area including a 1936-S Buff.

Of the 10 wheats I found Tuesday, 6 are over 100 years old (11, 11, 11-S, 17, 18-S, 19-S).

Suffice to say, that was an awesome day!

Thursday

My next outing Thursday. It was a longer outing as I had a long haul to a beach I wanted to hunt. It was another stunning day.

In my one previous hunt at that beach I found a Walking Liberty Half while screwing around with friends for an hour. I figured that was a promising sign so I made the effort to return.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t all that I was hoping but I did manage to find a small silver ring early in the hunt to at least come home with some precious metal!

Other than that it was lots of fishing weights and junk.

Saturday

My last hunt of the week was yesterday. My brother and I met at some remote beaches. The first was inaccessible (there was only private access). The second was a dud. Check out how good it looks though. How does this 115 year old beach/commercial dock site not have some silvers?!?

We went to an old faithful spot that’s been quiet for a while now. I decided to hit a really rocky area near it where you usually can’t find much. Your coil can’t get close enough to the ground.

However, I got lucky. Turned into an awesome little patch. The best finds were:
-3 early 1900s pennies stuck together including a 1903 Indian Head
-A 1912-D Barber Dime
-A military medal in the shape of a cross
-A very cool, octagon shaped 10c trade token to a small, local Washington town. Had to cross it out to keep the area quiet!

Weather and work has it looking like more hunting this week!

My wife and I just got an offer accepted on our first home yesterday so in a month I’ll be moving and probably some detecting time will be eaten up by home remodel time [emoji22]

I’ll try to keep bringing you the goods though, I can’t quit this addiction! Lol.

Thanks for looking and Happy Easter!

-W

Congrats on your 2nd oldest US coin. The gold ring is totally clutch.

Thank you! Yeah, totally unexpected. You've been crushing it yourself lately!

Man you killed it with those finds. That ring is a real beauty. If it was me, I would have it sized and wear it. I also love those trade tokens and that one is really cool, especially when you can pin it down to a local business. Really nice hunts. Congrats.

Thank you. There are only two listed tokens from this town on tokencatalog.com and only one even has a picture. Pretty cool piece of local history. Keep tearing it up my friend!

I wish I could've taken it! Haha. It was so firendly.

Big gold wash nice job man....:icon_thumright:

Thank you, I don't get them often so that was a super nice surprise.

I was forced into the Nox when my CTX broke. Figured I'd give it a shot. My new plan is to sell the CTX and become an Equinox man!!

Congrats on that beautiful gold ring find! :occasion14:
