I am inteested in art and do some oil painting when I can. Have a coworker who has been telling me about palm frond art. I was not familiar with it and decided to do some investigating. Very interesting. See the above links. The links are based on making various types of masks, but my friend paints florida outdoor scenes, oceans, palmtrees, etc..

The material is the base of the palm frond that has been cut off, sanded and painted.

There is no lack of palm trees in Florida and I am interested in trying my hand at this. From what I hear from my coworker there is a market for this kind of art locally.
