EVERYONE..on here please help!!!...really...

With all those extra folks buying detectors it drives down the cost and brings about even better detectors as the Whites, Garretts and others wish to keep new business coming in the front door. Have you noticed how with Diggers they show he is using an AT Gold and you think Garrett does not know that helps drive sales. Like I said they have a vested interest in these shows being out there.

I AM better than those guys on TV! I started using detectors when BFO's were "high tech". I am slowing down, though. So will those TV shows. Just an evolutionary process. The REAL hunters will survive. TTC

competition? Well, even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut. I mean, a number of years ago, I remember a show on one of the cable channels, we all had this conversation then too and you know what happened? Nothing. It went away and we all were still able to hunt our favorite places with little to no interruption. Most kids today have no interest in anything that either doesn't have a joy stick connected to it or the ability to thumb key a 144 character message. And for the older folks, they don't want to get off the couch, and for the ones that do, they don't want to spend $500 dollars for a machine that will bring in the "good stuff" and the ones who do, we wind up buying their machines on Ebay 6 months from now at half price including shipping.

I'm not worried, if anything, I'm encouraged because I know I can scoop up a good deal and the historical society will still be empty on a Saturday morning when I go to research old home sites.

Don't worry, this too shall pass. . . .

Pulltab, was that show possibly called "Treasure search"? I bought two books by the stars of the show, Bill Carter and Bob Trevillian. I also bought a VHS of the same name. I started the magazine but they went belly-up after sending me two mags. I only have the VHS left.... I think. Just wasn't their time back then. (late '70s or early '80s). TTC

No it was the show where a really good looking brunette who traveled around the country looking for treasure, It was called Where to find cash and treasure with Kirsten Gum. Everyone here was up in arms, though there were many comments about how attractive she was (and she was. . . hehe). And of course, there have been others before, and there will be others after.

Still not worried.
